Grow Your IT Career With Google

Technology jobs are in high demand, but Google is here to help. Through its Grow with Google program, the company wants to power up information technology careers and connect skilled workers with a consortium of top employers.

Google announced June 25 the expansion of its IT Support Professional Certificate to community colleges across seven states through a grant to the national nonprofit, JFF. The certificate, developed by Google and hosted on Coursera, helps learners become ready for an entry-level job in IT support in about eight months.

Once the program is completed, certificate holders can opt-in to share their information directly with top employers looking to hire entry-level IT support specialists. Participating companies include Walmart, Bank of America, Sprint, GE Digital, PNC Bank, Infosys, TEKSystems, UPMC and, of course, Google.

The IT Support Professional Certificate is a first-of-its-kind program with highly interactive content exclusively developed by Google. No prior experience is required.

The Google.org grant to JFF, a leading workforce development nonprofit, is being used to integrate the certificate program into leading community colleges in California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin. These schools will incorporate the program’s lessons directly into their existing curriculum, or offer credit for learners who have already completed the certificate.
